Senator Mushahid says Industrial Parks' Sites Finalized with Consultation of Provinces

Islamabad, Sept. 26: Parliamentary Committee on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was told on Monday that sites for the Industrial Parks have been identified and finalized with the consultation of all provinces.

The Committee met in Islamabad on Monday with Chairman Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed in the chair.

Secretary Planning and Development informed that all provinces have identified sites according to their priority and initially one Industrial Park will be established in each province.

He said issues of land acquisition for projects of CPEC are being resolved for timely completion.

Chairman Mushahid Hussain Syed told the meeting that a delegation of  China will soon visit Gilgit for initiation of development package.
He said package include education, health and development projects.

About the security of CPEC projects, the meeting was told that fourteen wings of Special Security Brigade have been raised and nine thousand recruitments have been made so far.

The members of the committee expressed satisfaction over consensus of entire political leadership and nation over CPEC.

About Gwadar International Airport construction, Committee was briefed that China has agreed for the construction of wide runway for large airplanes.
However, the terminal will be expanded in phases to meet the requirement of future.

The meeting was told that Energy projects worth thirty five billion dollars are being completed besides railway and road network projects.

The Members of the committee emphasized upon the need to up-grade and enhance capacity of transmission system in all provinces to sustain future load of surplus electricity.

The meeting was attended among others, Shibli Fraz, Rana Muhammad Efzal, Ghous Bakhsh Mehar,Aftab Sherpao and others.
