Govt plans to set up special economic zones in industrial cities

SIALKOT – Board of Investment (BoI) Secretary Iftikhar Babar has said that Pakistan has become an ideal country for foreign investment after the commencing of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Addressing a meeting of exporters at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), he said that effective and positive investment and business-friendly policies were paving ways of direct foreign investment. SCCI President Fazal Jillani, Mir Alamgir Meyer and Sialkot Dry Port Trust Chairman Khawar Anwar Khawaja were also present.

Babar said that the present government was successfully providing secure, safe and investment friendly atmosphere to the national and foreign investors in Pakistan. He said that the government had a plan to establish special economic zones in major industrial cities of Pakistan.
