Chinese FM discusses ties with CM

LAHORE - A meeting was held between Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Friday, in which promotion of Pak-China cooperation and projects under Pak-China economic corridor were discussed in detail.

Talking to the Chinese Foreign Minister, the chief minister said that the Chinese cooperation for the progress and development of Pakistan was highly commendable.
“China is a sincere and trustworthy friend of Pakistan which has stood by it in every hour of need,” he added.

Shahbaz Sharif also said that both the countries had always supported each other’s stance on regional and international issues.
He said that China had proved to be a true friend of Pakistan by helping it in the development of various sectors.
He said that exploration work of mineral reserves in Chiniot-Rajwa was also given to a Chinese company in a transparent manner which has discovered deposits of iron, copper and gold through hard work of ten months.
The Chinese cooperation and role in the exploration of mineral reserves in Punjab would always be remembered.

“During the tenure of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Pak-China friendship is turning into beneficial economic relations and new avenues of cooperation are opening in various sectors,” the Punjab chief minister stated.

He further said that people of Pakistan are awaiting the Chinese President in country, adding that the tour of Chinese leader would further strengthen friendly ties and bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
He also said that the rapid economic progress made by China was a role model for the world.

On the occasion, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that China would continue to cooperate with Punjab in energy, minerals, industry and other sectors, adding, “China highly values its relations with Pakistan.

He added that the Chinese people and government considered Pakistan’s problems as their own and were also extending cooperation in overcoming energy crisis in the country.

 “Pak-China friendship is exemplary and the people of the two countries deeply respect each other,” the Chinese minister said.
