ISLAMABAD: The trade volume between Pakistan and China has increased by 10 per cent to $12.8 billion during the last ten months, said Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong. The ambassador was giving a lecture on “Pak-China relations” at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) on Tuesday, said a press release. China is currently becoming the largest online retail market and e-commerce activity exceeds to $1.6 billion. In the recent years, he said, China has promoted innovation in products and emphasised on its quality. On Pak-China relations ambassador Weidong said that Pak-China relations was an example for the other countries of the world to follow. He further stated that Chinese companies were only investing in energy sector of Pakistan and not considering that as a loan. Currently, China is investing in hydro power, coal power, and wind energy sectors to solve the energy problem. Condemning the Peshawar massacre, the ambassador said China was deeply shocked and saddened. He reiterated his country’s resolve to continue to rendering firm support to the government and people of Pakistan in fight against terrorism and unremitting efforts in maintaining national stability and people safety.
