Clenergy Cooperates on 40MW PV Installation in Pakistan
Quaid-e-Azam Solar Energy Park, Bahawalpur-Pakistan, a 100 MW photovoltaic project -- is A joint venture of government of Punjab, Bank of Punjab and Tebian Electric Apparatus (Chinese manufacturer of power transformers).

Bahwalpur, Pakistan—Quaid-e-Azam Solar Energy Park, a 100 MW photovoltaic project, is currently underway in Bahawalpur, Pakistan, and Clenergy has recently won the bid for providing mounting systems to a 40MW installment.

Headquartered in Xiamen, China, Clenergy is a tech company involved in the solar PV industry. It designs, manufactures and distributes a range of renewable energy products for the residential and commercial markets, as well as to utility scale customers. These include solar PV mounting products, inverters and power electronic equipment. The company has branch offices in Australia, Japan, the UK and the United States, and is also present in Malaysia with a regional office.

Clenergy will join a Chinese PV manufacturer and system integrator in the development process, TBEA SunOasis. The latter is the project’s engineering, procurement and construction provider, also responsible for operations and maintenance. In the past 11 years, TBEA SunOasis has constructed off- and on-grid solar power stations for more than 3,000 units, and its total installation capacity occupies the leading position in China. The firm’s annual green energy generation capacity reaches 200 GWh.

The two companies had previously worked together, mostly on utility scale solar projects. The partnership has installed several large-scale solar farms in China’s northwest desert region since 2011 and most of them feature Clenergy’s tailor made C-steel mounting solution. This project is their first mutual assignment outside the borders of China.

The country is currently suffering from an energy shortfall of 6 GW, and the demand for electricity is rising by 8 percent every year. Quaid-e-Azam Solar Energy Park is a joint venture of the government of Punjab, Bank of Punjab and Tebian Electric Apparatus. The first utility scale solar power plant in Pakistan, it is planned to be among the largest in the world and expected to go online with an output of 100 megawatts in next December. The government of Pakistan plans to gradually extend the project to 6,500 acres in order to meet the ultimate target of contributing 1,000 megawatts to the national grid by 2016.
