Executive Chairman Pak-China Institute terms Boao forum significant

ISLAMABAD: Executive Chairman Pak-China Institute, Mustafa Syed has said that the focus of Boao forum is peace and development in Asia because peace is necessary for the economic growth of Asia.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, Mustafa Syed said that China is a great economic growth engine in Asia which provides vast opportunities of trade and finance in Asia.
He said that basic objective of Boao forum is economic integration and development of Asia adding he said that many observers have predicted that 21st Century is the century of Asia.
He added resolution of regional disputes is necessary for economic development of Asia. One of the reasons of the development of ASEAN countries is that they put aside their regional disputes.
He said that Pak-China economic corridor is a great project and beneficial for the whole Asian region.
He added Pakistan and China are closely cooperating with each other in trade, finance and infrastructure development.
He went on to say that direct foreign investment is necessary for economic development of any country. He said that a Chinese textile company has signed two billion Dollars agreement with Pakistani Textile Company, which is a great achievement.
He said that there was a close cooperation between Pakistan and China at public sector level in the past but now private sectors of two countries are also engaged in different fields.
He said that Pak-China corridor is crucial for both the countries adding he said that China cooperation in trade and energy sector would begin a new era of economic prosperity.
He said that Chinese investment is coming into hydel, coal, wind and solar energy projects in Pakistan and improved law and order situation will also help in order to attract the foreign investors in Pakistan.
