Pakistan-China Institute Chairman meets Chinese Premier Li Keqiang

Chairman of the Pakistan-China Institute, Senator Mushahid Hussain, had two meetings with visiting Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, first with a group of Parliamentary Leaders at the Senate of Pakistan, and later with a think-tanks delegation at the Pakistan-China Friendship Centre. Senator Hussain appreciated Premier Li Keqiang's speech to the Senate, and introduced the Pakistan-China Institute as the first dedicated non-governmental platform in Pakistan devoted to promoting Pakistan-China people-to-people contacts.

Welcoming the Pakistan-China Institute's role, Premier Li Keqiang said 'such initiatives are positive for promoting people-to-people contacts'. Responding to the comment on his speech, the Chinese Premier said he spoke from 'his heart, as I recall very fond memories of my first visit to Pakistan 27 years ago as part of a youth delegation'. He also outlined his vision for broadening people-to-people contacts with more teachers of Chinese language, greater exchanges among youth, academia and media, and more collaboration among think-tanks.
