Head of Confucius Institute Visits with Delegation

The Director General of the Confucius Institute in Beijing, Ms. Xu Lin arrived in Islamabad on May 21st, as part of a series of visits she and her team are conducting to countries that host Confucius Institutes across the world. On May 22nd, Ms Xu visited the National University of Modern Languages where the first Confucius Institute in Pakistan was established. In a meeting with the heads of local educational institutions, she discussed the possibility of furthering Chinese learning by establishing centers in the local schools. The Pakistan-China institute was also represented and presented Ms. Xu with a proposal for collaboration between PCI and the Confucius Institute for the wider dissemination of Chinese language learning across the country.  Students from NUML and Roots also demonstrated their Chinese language skills through cultural performances.
